Justice for Lily Aramburo Hunger Strike: Latest Videos

Monday November 16th, Lily Aramburo’s 26th birthday marked the start of a Justice for Lily Hunger Strike in downtown Miami, Florida.
We hung up banners and put up a multitude of signs at Government Center passing out flyers and engaging the community all week long. Most of everyone we spoke to was supportive of our efforts. Many shared their personal stories and offered encouraging words and prayers, including a Buddhist monk who prayed with us. I made sure to update everyone as much as I could via Twitter.

Early Monday morning, Lucely went on the Enrique Santos radio show. They’ve been an enormous help in our search for answers. We love their show and appreciate all their support. Take a listen here:

Univision’s Primer Impacto came over after hearing Lucely on the radio. Watch the video below:

Telemundo was kind enough to cover our hunger strike, as well. (video posted below) We also had NBC6 and WSVN7 take footage Monday afternoon but the segments have not aired (that I’m aware of).
.

Private Investigator Joe Carrillo went on the Enrique Santos Show  on Friday morning, the last day of our 5 day fast. He gave a great interview on the radio which lasted about 15 minutes. Joe offers his insight into his investigation of Lily’s case.

Here’s Part 1 of P.I Joe Carrillo on Enrique Santos Show:

Here’s Part 2 of P.I. Joe Carrillo on Enrique Santos Show:

Miami Dade Police detectives called Joe and set up a meeting, which already took place on Tuesday November 24, 2009. I’m pleased that there is dialog between Joe and Miami Dade Police command staff. But the fight for justice continues.

2 Years Ago Lilly’s Life Changed Forever

Lily’s case remains unsolved but our resolve to find her is unwavering. We remain strong, focused and working very hard to find answers.

Sunday, May 31st, 2009, we had a Justice March and Candle-light vigil to mark the 2 year anniversary of Lily’s disappearance. Lily’s family, friends and supporters met at Cocowalk. We put on our white T-shirts, held signs and passed out Lily’s missing person posters. It was a cloudy day with bits of rain (Maybe the reason why media didn’t show?) but there was plenty of traffic and movement in the Grove. I felt sick at heart watching Lily’s mother, Lucely that day, and Lilly’s elderly grandmother with Lilly’s little boy, Palden sitting innocently in his stroller.

WHAT IF

About an hour later we marched through the streets of Coconut Grove, five blocks to the location where we held the vigil; steps away from where we believe Lily’s life was taken. We didn’t know what to expect. But as our group approached 3440 Percival Ave, a City of Miami police officer arrived and parked his police car down the block. He was friendly and cooperative and stayed until the end.

Night began to fall. Lucely said a few words and thanked everyone for their support and prayers, (I tried my best to translate) candles were passed out and Lily’s grandmother said a prayer. Afterward, we had a balloon release with the help of Palden, Lilly’s 2 year old son. He released purple balloons and said “I love you mom” and “we miss you”. He’s a big boy now and is well aware of Lily’s absence.

On behalf of Lily’s family and friends please accept our heartfelt thanks to each and every person who came out and shared this moment with us. I would like to thank Private Investigator Joe Carrillo, whose continued efforts and commitment we’re so grateful for. Thank you for caring and keeping her case moving forward! Thanks to everyone who has helped in the fight to find Lily. (Including my Twitter friends, Facebook community!) Thank you to each and every person, who continues to visit this blog, your messages of encouragement and prayers give us strength during this very difficult time. We are forever indebted to you.

Please check back as we update information. Your continued support is critical to bring Lilly home! We will not let Lily’s story go away. Together we will find our missing loved ones!

Candle vigil to mark young mother’s disappearance to be held in Coconut Grove

From Lily

Lucely “Lilly” Aramburo, 25, was last seen June 1, 2007.

She is the mother of a two-year-old boy named Palden, and has a history of drug abuse and mental illness.

Her mother Lucely Zalvidar told a New Times reporter that while growing up in Miami she had run away from home, and had made attempts to commit suicide .

Local activists are organizing a candle vigil at 6 p.m., on May 31st, at 35 Percial Avenue, in Coconut Grove to mark the two year anniversary of her disappearance. More information at the Justice in Miami blog.

Vigil and March planned for missing Lucely Aramburo

There will be a candlelight vigil and silent march tomorrow, to commemorate missing mother, Lucely “Lily” Aramburo on the two year anniversary of her disappearance.

On June 1, 2007, Lilly Aramburo, 23, left her ex boyfriends house in the middle of the night, never to be seen again. The Miami Dade Police Department’s detectives failed to interview Christen Pacheco, Kelly Starling, and “EJ” who were present when Lily disappeared. The march will start at 6 pm at CocoWalk, tomorrow, May 31. The march will go to 3440 Percival Avenue.

Francisco Alvarado, of the New Times, was the first to report on the disappearance last September.More info on the vigil and march at the Justice in Miami Blog.

Two Years Later: Lilly Aramburo Remains Missing
By Francisco Alvarado
Friday, May. 29 2009

It has been close to a year since I wrote my cover story about Lilly Aramburo, a 24-year-old single mother and drug addict who disappeared from her boyfriend’s apartment June 1, 2007. Today, there is still no trace of her, but friend Janet Forte presses on with her social media crusade to find out what happened to Aramburo.

There has been some progress. Joe Carrillo, a private investigator who helped Miami Police nab the Shenandoah Rapist, volunteered to help Forte track down leads. On a recent afternoon, Carillo met with me to give an update on his investgation, which he is doing free of charge.

A former bodyguard for Latin boy pop band Menudo, Carrillo stands over six feet tall and has a gleaming bald head à la Kojak.

He informed me he believes Christen Pacheco, Aramburo’s boyfriend, had nothing to do with her disappearance. “He was telling the truth when he said Lilly left his apartment after they got into an arguement,” Carrillo notes.

Carrillo says he interviewed two of Aramburo’s friends, who told him about a house at 35 Percival Ave. in Coconut Grove, at the time a known flop house where Aramburo and her pals smoked crack. Carrillo says he recieved another tip that Aramburo, after leaving Pacheco’s apartment, went to that house where she was allegedly killed by three individuals she knew, including a drug dealer who has a murder conviction.

I’ve chosen not to disclose their names until I’ve had an opportunity to verify Carrillo’s claims.

Carrillo says he provided the names of the three men to Miami-Dade Police detectives investigating Aramburo’s disappearance on four occassions. “They haven’t done squat,” Carrillo says.

This Sunday at 6 p.m., Forte will lead a march from CocoWalk to 35 Percival Ave., where she will hold a candlelight vigil in Aramburo’s honor.

Boycott Miami!!

If you listened to War on Crime Radio tonight, you heard Levi suggesting a protest of Miami. I’ve included the show below, take a listen for yourself. Boycotting Miami is a great idea! If I lived outside of Miami, I’d be scared to visit here. Don’t be fooled, Miami Dade Police are not like what you see on CSI:Miami or The First 48.

Lilly was a lifetime resident. She vanished June 1, 2007. Miami Dade Police have not properly investigated this case from the start. The case was assigned to a detective who was on vacation. No one did anything for months! The flyer was created over 2 months later. Police did not interview Christen Pacheco, her boyfriend and the last person to see Lilly alive, until many months after. The list goes on and on. Obstacle after obstacle. Up until the present moment, they are not cooperating or properly investigating the case. Just think about how they will treat a tourist!

This can happen to you or your loved one! Lilly’s story is not special. People disappear from Miami every day. The problem comes in when police don’t do their jobs and don’t investigate. Civil servants (police) are paid by our tax dollars. There is no excuse for their disregard of human life! Miami Dade depends heavily on tourist dollars. Boycott my beautiful city and refuse to travel here until Miami Dade Police investigate Lilly’s case. No one should have to endure the suffering that Lilly’s family has had to endure. Is it a coincidence that the media in Miami rarely report on missing persons? I think not.

Help find Lilly. Boycott Miami. If boycotting is too big a task, then please please for the love of truth, make a phone call to to the US State Attorneys Office in Miami and politely ask them to investigate the possible homicide of Lilly Aramburo. It only takes a minute. The phone number for the State Attorney’s Office in Miami is 305-961-9001. Also, please contact Attorney General Bill McCollum Office, the Contact Person is Sandi Copes at (850) 245-0150. If you’d like to contact Miami Dade Police, the detective’s name is Aaron Mancha, his phone number is (305) 418-7245 and his email is amancha@mdpd.com.

Missing Mother, Lilly Aramburo – Son is Almost Two!

Next month, Lilly’s little boy turns two. This little boy is the spitting image of his mother. I wonder what it must be like for him, living without her.

Seems like just the other day, I got the phone call from David, his father, telling me Lilly was having the baby. I got ready as fast as I possibly could, jumped in my car and drove to from my apartment in Miami Beach to Hollywood to witness the baby’s birth.

So much has changed since then. That precious newborn is a toddler now, exploring the world around him. Without his mom. And without his dad. That’s “impermanence” for you.

And so it deeply saddens me to realize this child will grow up without both parents. But despite it all, he’s always happy, very bright and full of life. His grandmother has given so much love and attention.

Can you please help find his mom?

Help spread the news of this missing mother from Miami. There are many ways to help.

Email me, if you’re interested. Or leave a comment on the blog. And I’ll get right back to you.

Happy Birthday, sweet baby! May you always be joyous & happy and free from suffering!

Join us on Flickr, Care2, Friendfeed, and Check out the Picture of Lilly’s Back Tattoo!

Thank you, Detective Mancha from Miami Dade Police Department, for providing us with this picture of Lilly’s back tattoo. This is the only known picture of it and we are extremely thankful to Det. Mancha for providing it to us.

Anyone with information should immediately contact MDPD at 305-418-7245.

I’ve used many social networking sites to assist me in my mission of finding Lilly and raising awareness for missing persons. If you have a loved one that’s missing, you are invited to join my group on Flickr. The group is focused on missing persons in the United States. Every member is encouraged to upload pictures of missing loved ones (as long as they disappeared within the US). This is a good idea in several aspects. Many people use Flickr. And it’s an effective way of raising awareness for the missing.
Join my room in Friendfeed. Members post links to pictures, articles, anything that has to do with missing persons. If you’re a social media lover, be sure to join us on various sites across the web. Care2.com. And a community on Mixx.com.
Add Lilly as a friend on myspace and join the group on Facebook and join the cause on Facebook. These are a just few of the ones I use. I’ll write an entire post about this in more detail in the near future.

To Lilly’s Murderer, Your Conscious Must be KILLING You!

Another newly acquired picture of Lilly courtesy of Miami Dade Police Department. With every new picture, sadness tends to overcome me. And all I’m left with are questions.

Christen Pacheco, the man Lilly was engaged to, was one of the last persons to see her alive. He reported her missing, 24 hours after the fact and before ever checking with family or friends. He tried to make it seem as if her intention was to kill herself. He fabricated a tale about Lilly leaving with bungee cords. If it was truly her intention to hang herself or take her own life, her body would have been found by now. My gut feeling screamed murder. But I am not accusing Christen. Although he never behaved like a man suffering due his fiance’s disappearance and never made any attempts to find her, he is innocent until proven guilty. However, several criminal profilers, including Clint Van Zandt, and others in the criminal justice field, all agree that police should have seen red flags immediately. They should have questioned her fiance thoroughly. Police should have started investigating at that most critical moment! But instead, they assigned her case to a detective (Detective Aaron Mancha) who was on vacation! Lilly’s life was treated as completely inconsequential and meaningless. I often think about why. Was it because she’s not white or well off? Was it negligence or something greater and uglier like Missing White Woman Syndrome?

Why is it that after all this time, Miami residents are still unfamiliar with Lilly’s case? Because her case has not interested the news media at all. How could it make an enduring news impression, even locally, if media is unresponsive and unwilling to report?

After all this time, I believe her little boy and family, deserve answers. Something happened to Lilly. She did NOT willingly walk away from her son and her life. Lilly would never allow so much time to pass without making a phone call or checking on her son. Someone took her from us. And many of us will not rest until she is found and justice is served for Lilly Aramburo.

Here’s a direct statement to her perpetrator: YOUR CONSCIOUS MUST BE KILLING YOU!!!

Miami Police – Nothing Like CSI:Miami or First 48

Recently, I had a conversation with the detective from Lilly’s case. It only took a few weeks of daily messages to his voice mail and emails to him and his superiors inside the Miami Dade Police Department.

I was a little frustrated to say the least but very thankful to have the opportunity to seek help in several aspects in the search for Lilly. And more specifically, I had some questions that needed answers.

In the few weeks in which I waited to speak with MDPD, I managed to not only get two Search and Rescue Teams to volunteer, but I tracked down the owners of the property (where the recent tip said she’d be found) called them and received approval for the search. All we were waiting for was MDPD.

Back to the conversation with detective. After almost 3 weeks, not much had been accomplished on their end. According to him, he was out the previous week and nobody handles his cases while he’s out. Besides, Lilly’s is not his only case (I’ve heard this mantra over and over again). Nevertheless, I was happy to report that we had 2 SAR teams ready to move and all we needed was their approval. That approval never came. What I got instead was a bunch of excuses.

And since then, I can’t help but wonder why the MDPD would not allow two professional Search and Rescue teams from South Florida to help in the search for Lilly? The more I think about it, the less it makes sense.

You would think they would welcome and accept any help that’s offered to them since they’re so tied up with hundreds of missing persons cases. So busy that it’s taken more than 3 weeks to get the ball rolling in order to complete the search at the property where Lilly’s remains might be found. Instead, they insist they are fully prepared. They have cadaver dogs…

After an entire year of neglect to her case, now we must rely on them and them only?

And yet, why has it taken this long? Can it really be that the MDPD are that tied up? That it takes them weeks to simply find out who the property owners are? When it took me less than 20 minutes? Trust me, Miami Dade Police are nothing like what you see on CSI:Miami, more like Reno 911.

Honestly, what is it going to take for police to solve this case? Lilly did NOT willingly abandon her child. She did NOT just vanish!

Does more blood need to spill?

More Than One Entire Year and Lilly is still GONE ~ Desperately Seeking Justice

“Sometimes, when one person is missing, the whole world seems depopulated.” -Lamartine

Since the moment I received the phone call from Lilly’s mother, I knew this was going to be a life changing event. Although, I was used to losing touch with Lilly every once and awhile, this was different. The more I learned about the details, the more I knew something was terribly wrong. She’d never abandon her child. Just a few days before she went missing, she wrote journal entries expressing hope and love for her baby and making plans for the future. She was in a treatment center until her scheduled court date. She was clear minded and making an effort to change her life. That day, she was picked up by Christen in the morning, at the treatment center. And the rest is history.

A short time after Lilly disappears, Christen’s Cadillac SUV disappears. And Kelly moves in with Christen. According to them, there was another person in the apartment the night Lilly vanished. A guy by the nickname “EJ”. It’s been more than one year since that night and we still don’t know anything about this person. Why have they not come forward? Miami Dade Police have yet to interview any of the people who were there at the condo the night she disappeared.

If you have any information or a tip, please contact Detective Mancha at 305-418-7245. If you know anything about her disappearance and could offer some insight, please email me. This has gone on way too long. Someone out there knows EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO LILLY. I urge you to contact the detective or call the tip line at 305-471-TIPS, you can remain anonymous if need be. Just make the phone call, please. No matter how small a detail, no matter how silly you think it may be, your information could help solve this mystery. It’s been a hellish experience for Lilly’s family and friends. Please help bring Lilly back home.

For the most recent update on Lilly’s case, please read Murder, Money & Power Miami Style. Very raw and unfiltered truth about what we are dealing with in the real life mystery of Lilly Aramburo’s disappearance. Please comment and make a quick phone call to the US Attorney’s Office at 305-530-7679. It appears the US Attorneys office are the only ones who can properly investigate this case. Also, please continue sending emails to Governor Charlie Crist and media. It makes absolutely no sense that after all this time, not ONE article has been written about Lilly’s case in local newspapers like The Miami Herald or Miami New Times. The local news channels are not helping either. It’s not due to lack of effort, I testify to that.

Last night, I submitted A few articles (written by Susan Murphy Milano)to Current TV. This morning, I received an email from Current TV explaining that the submissions have gained enough momentum to be featured on the UK homepage.

But wait-it gets better! Getting on the homepage means the submissions are being considered for inclusion in Current News pod, an open, participatory newscast on the web and Current TV. That’s right, TV!!

Can this be the crime scene?? See the pictures!

Susan wrote a great posting about the potential crime scene in Lilly’s disappearance.
Below are the pictures of the property where Lilly might be found. But getting police to follow up on this lead is a different story. As usual, it’s not their priority. For those that are not following the case, Lilly was last seen at her fiance; Christen Pacheco’s apartment on
June 1, 2007. She’s never been seen or heard from ever again. Christen reported Lilly missing 24 hours later, before calling her mother or family members & friends. According to his story, she walked out of his apartment at 2am in pajamas to pick flowers and took a bungee cord with her.

Memo To Miami Homicide Detectives

The latest post about Lilly’s disappearance and the Miami Dade Police Department by Susan Murphy Milano on War on Crime.

Today, a meeting took place with Detective Mancha, Miami Police Department who is assigned to the missing person case of Lilly Aramburo.

I mean no respect to the men and women with the Miami Police Department who work around the clock to fight and solve crime on the street of Miami. I decided to post a memo regarding Lilly Aramburo.

TO: Detective A mancha:

FROM: Susan Murphy Milano

RE: Lilly Aramburo

Allow me to assist you in your job pertaining to the investigation into the disappearance of
Lilly, a woman and mother, who did not just “vanish” !

In your meeting today with Lilly’s family you stated the need for the vehicle identification number for the 2005 Black SUV Escalade owned by one Christian Pacheco. I believe that is your responsibility to contact the Florida departments of motor vehicles and obtain that number. Or obtain the various traffic violations of Christian Pacheco between November of 2006 through May of 2007 and it will provide you with that vehicle number.

Or you can check the following vehicle tags here are the numbers:

Florida Tag # TZ192G
Florida Tag # 45988L

One of the above vehicle tags will provide you with the vin number you need.

The 2005 Escalade also had a GPS system in the car. With the vin number you can contact the folks at Onstar and have them trace the last known area this car was in. And just maybe you will find it and locate Lilly Aramburo. Records indicate Christen Pacheco did not total his SUV. He did not make an insurance claim on this vehicle. He left shortly after
filling a missing persons report that sat on someone’s desk. A few days later he told people he was in an accident and totaled the car. Totally false!

Charge card records between 5/2/07 through 6/11/07 may provide important information.
The charge card records will help you with the time line.

In addition, the couple filed for a marriage license on 4/25/2007. Christen Pacheco was the last person to see Lilly Aramburo alive. Perhaps go to a judge and obtain a search warrant at head over to Christen Pacheco’s residence and you just might find important blood evidence on the carpet and in various spots throughout the condo. Lilly’s blood type can be checked against hospital records and records from St. Luke’s rehab center.

I am available to assist you any way possible. There are red flags all over this case. And they point in only one single direction. My email address is contact@movingoutmovingon.com

GOVERNOR CHARLIE CRIST: HELP US FIND LILLY ARAMBURO!

Please read the latest story discussing Lilly’s case below. Please go to the link on the title of this post. Visit the site and COMMENT,COMMENT, COMMENT!! We need everyone to COMMENT, PLEASE. Additionally, please email Governor Charlie Crist. Ask him to help bring our Lilly home!

Please listen to the radio show. According to former FBI/Criminal Profiler, Clint Van Zandt, “there are interesting parallels to the Stepha Henry Case (a college graduate who disappeared in May) and took local authorities in Miami to the first of the year to get their investigation together.” He goes on to say that it’s WRONG that Lilly’s case is not listed in the NCIC database. He adds “Circumstances are SUSPICIOUS enough that this should raise her as a higher profile potential victim on the radar scope of police”

On April 25, 2007, Our investigation into the Missing Miami Mother Lilly Aramburo and her fiance, Christen Pacheco, found the couple applied for a marriage license on April 25, 2007. Approximately thirty-six days later, Lilly Aramburo, vanished. See details below:

Approximately thirty-six days later, Lilly Aramburo, vanished. The last person(s) to see her alive was Miami Businessman, Christen Pacheco and a long time friend by the name of Kelly Rae Starling. Both say that Lilly left her loving future at two in the morning in her pajama’s to go and pick flowers. She had no shoes or slippers on her feet, she left her purse and cell phone in the home she and Christen Pacheco shared. Most of all, she left her one year old son.
The explanation from Christen Pacheco who also heads up a not for profit agency in the State of Florida called Kidz Comfort Zone, Inc., knows what happened that night.
Police have yet to investigate the disappearance of this Miami Mother, Lilly Aramburo. On June 2, 2008 it will be one year since Lilly vanished.
The police have ignored the families pleas to investigate this case, it’s time to take it to Governor Charlie Crist.
I am asking that you take a moment and email the Governor of Florida.
Copy and paste this post and send it to: Charlie.Crist@myflorida.com
And ask him to help us bring Lilly Aramburo home!
