We’ve made progress in Lilly’s case!!

I’m ecstatic to report back that there has been progress! For one, Lilly’s mom went on Univision, a program which will air in a few short weeks. The producers of the show even made a financial contribution! It’s not all that much but it’s something and it helps alleviate some financial hardship for the benefit of Lilly’s baby, Baby Palden. He’s so precious! I wish I had the time now to explain a little bit about his name. Let’s just say he’s blessed.

Another beautiful thing that has manifested is that some awesome private investigators are going to help out, donating their own time to the case. Wow, I’m still in shock about the kindness of strangers. They say they’re going to help get media attention for Lilly and get her on America’s Most Wanted!

I’ll report back soon! Peace to all…

Quick Update

Haven’t had much time lately between work, kids and my mission to find Lilly. I’m so behind! Thankfully, I work from home and I love what I do. Bad thing is I get distracted easily.

I have an update about Lilly’s case. Lily’s mother and I paid a visit to Miami Dade Police Detective Aaron Mancha. We’ve been trying to talk to him to get an update but since he never returns our calls, we went to the police department. We wanted to know why Christen and the others who were in the apartment when Lily “left”, hadn’t been interviewed yet. His reply was that he had tried calling him but he hasn’t returned his calls. He also mentioned visiting his apartment a few times but he wasn’t home and so he left his business card with a note for Christen to call him. We persuaded him to try again. And he did. But again he wasn’t there. Another business card was left at his door.

We took the opportunity to go to the neighborhood and talk to neighbors, gather information. We waited around and eventually got to see and visit with Christen. He provided more details about what was happening the night Lily disappeared and the people that were there in the apartment. He said that Lily left after a big argument they had. He said she was wearing pajamas and didn’t have shoes on or take any personal belongings with her.

Lily’s mom and I spent a lot of time lately driving up and down the streets of Miami, Coconut Grove and Overtown searching for Lily. No one has seen her. But we did find Kelly, (pictured above with Lucely, Lily’s mother) in Coconut Grove. Kelly went to school with Lily and was there that night. She had bruises on her face and body, which she said were thanks to Christen.

We tried calling the investigator but can’t ever reach him and he doesn’t return our calls.

I found out about another beautiful young lady by the name of Heather Riggio that is missing from North Miami Beach since May 2007. I haven’t seen her in the news either.

Finally met Detective Mancha

I went to see Detective Mancha, the detective from Miami Dade Police assigned to Lilly’s case on Monday with the new evidence I found. I think it shows a possible motive. I asked Detective Mancha where we’re at.

I’ll tell you where we’re at, absolutely NO progress in 6 months!! He still hasn’t questioned her boyfriend, one of the last people to see her. He said that he’s been out to his apartment a few times but he’s never there. He says he’s left various business cards asking him to call. And surprise surprise, he hasn’t called. I’m so frustrated with police and media.

I practically begged him to help with a press release. And (as expected) he washed his hands of it. It’s not him, he has to submit it to P.I.O Police Information Office, which is media relations for the police. But after everything, the fact that he misspelled her name on the flyer, the fact that he’s let all this time fly without pinning down the boyfriend, etc- he can’t even make a press release happen. What ever happened to compassion? Lilly is a human being, a precious one to her family and friends. So why can’t they even get her picture up on the news/newspaper, etc?
I am determined more than ever to continue this mission to find her. As long as I remain in this world, I vow to never stop seeking justice for my precious friend, Lilly.

I did get something accomplished though. I’ll let you know tomorrow after the fact. Wish us luck… we really need it. In this world, you must be white, middle-class, or from an important family to get any media attention or proper police investigation. It’s a sad realization, I’ve learned the hard way.

Please don’t stop praying for Lilly.

Disturbing find

I recently did a little research and I found someone’s blog entry regarding Lilly. I’m freaking out at how hateful it was. I suspect that person may have important information, to say the least. It was too passionate…they had pictures of her too.

I’m seeing the police investigator Monday. I can’t wait to have that conversation.

I’ll let you guys know what happens.

Press release to come soon too….

Learned of another missing woman! omg!!

Today I created a new group on Facebook for Lily. For those of you not on Facebook yet, what are you waiting for? Please join my group here
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6448284204

Recently, I learned about another young woman who went missing from Miami back in May. Her name is Stepha Henry. Here is her Facebook group
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2368558573

This is a serious problem in Miami. The police don’t take the time that they should to investigate. The are too busy tazering old people & children or shooting innocent black kids. Where o where are the good cops?? Anywhere in this beautiful City of Miami?

Lilly Aramburo Has Vanished!

I’ve had a variety of difficult situations manifest in my life which have led me to want to start this blog.

A good friend, Lily Aramburo, has been missing since June 1, 2007. Feeling helpless has motivated me to express those feelings and inform everyone about the cause of missing persons and domestic violence. Society rather turn a blind eye but I think it’s very important to document our stories. Here is mine.

I am Janet, a Social Media Strategist from Miami, FL. I work for Subliminal Pixels Lab and I’ve dedicated myself to raising awareness for Lilly and other missing persons. Please consider subscribing to my RSS feed.

Lilly is a 23 year old mother. She was born in San Francisco but raised in Miami, FL. We’ve been close friends for a long time. I’m scared to death about her disappearance. It can’t be anything good. Lilly has a 9 month old son. She’s never leave him. Lilly was last seen at her fiance’s apartment in Kendall. He says they had an argument and she walked out in pajamas with bungee cords. It makes absolutely no sense. She hasn’t been seen since.

Something is very wrong and I intent to get to the truth. Join me on this mission. Help me seek justice for Lilly.
